Anna's Restaurant - " Giles Olde Time Stringband". This is a weekly jam open to anyone who plays or just loves Old Time Music. It was started in January of 2002, and has been very popular. It has brought both musicians and listeners out of the woodworks. Music starts around 7 PM and the country buffet at Anna's is the best around. Come out to Anna's on Thursday night and enjoy great food and music. Downtown Narrows, VA

Giles Mountain String Band
Old Time music from the mountains of Southwest Virginia. Band Members: Angie Via on bass, Chris Via on Banjo, Dean Reed on Guitar, Bill Blevens on Fiddle. Available for dances, shows, reunions, parties, Civil War re-enactments, and other historical events.
Playing a variety of Old Time Music, and even some older country, for the slow dancers.

Festivals
Henry Reed Memorial Festival - June
The Fiddler’s Convention is held in June each year at the Glen Lyn Town Park. Musicians from all over have come to this competition for years to compete on several levels of Blue Grass and Old Time Music. Fiddle workshops Friday and Saturday.
Giles Fiddler's Convention - May
Weekend focused on family entertainment with music, canoeing, and primitive camping. The beautiful 30 acre Whitt-Riverbend Park on the New River will be transformed into a community event with bluegrass and old time competitions, activities for kids, and fun on the river for all ages. Canoe tours, both short jaunts for the inexperienced and long tours for river veterans, will be available fromTangent Outfitters. Vending so far includes Old Virginia Smokehouse, Easy Chair Coffee Shop, and The Cellar.

Newport Fest - September
Newport Fest, A Labor Day Weekend of Music, Dancing, Camping, and getting your Groove On!
Eleven years later after the initial party, Newport Fest has grown into a small festival occurring every Labor Day weekend hosting several hundred patrons, a dozen local and regional bands, and an unsurpassed grassroots effort dedicated to music and community.
