Directions: Located directly on Route 460 in Pembroke. From interstate 81 you take Route 460 West at the Christiansburg exit and go 25 miles to Pembroke (use the by-pass at Blacksburg). One hour from Roanoke, Virginia, one hour from Bluefield, West Virginia,two hours from Winston-Salem, North Carolina and approximately five hours away from Richmond, Virginia.


Canoe Livery information:
Age requirements:
Children between the ages of 6 and 10 may ride as pasengers of selected trips. Arrangements must be made in advance. On all other trips the limit is two people per canoe, and the minimum age is 11.


Reservations:
Advance reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and holidys. Mail reservations must be accompanied by full payment. Telephone reservations though will be held five days, pending receipt of payment.


Rates:
Prices include paddles, life jackets, and transportations from the shop to and from the river. Rates are figured per person and based on two persons per canoe.
Eggleston to Pembroke:
Three impressive rock formations and occasionaly mild rapids make this an ideal trip for the casual paddler. Shuttles from 9:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. $20 per person.
McCoy to Pembroke:
An extension of the above trip with some ledges and fast water in the first three miles. $20
Pembroke to Bluff City:
Several good Class II. rapids and excellent scenery make this remote section a favorite summer trip. Good fishing. $20
Pembroke to Narrows:
An extension of Pembroke to Bluff City. An additional four miles of mostly flat water plus Narrows Falls (Class III.) $25


Two & Three Day Trips:
McCoy to Bluff City: (21 miles)
A combination of our two most popular one day trips. $35
McCoy to Narrows: (26 miles)
An extension of the above trip including Narrows Falls. $37
McCoy to Shanklins Ferry: (3 days/42 miles)
The last portion of this trip is in West Virginia's Bluestone Public Hunting and Fishing area. $42


Four & Five Day Trips:
McCoy to Indian Creek: (4 days/58 miles)
Also end in West Virginia. $57
Pepper's Ferry to Indian Creek: (5 days/63 miles)
For the hard core canoe tripper. $65


Refunds
A full refund will be made with at least 10 days notice of cancellation, or if we are forced to cancel a trip.
No refund will be given otherwise.


Cancellations:
The trip will be cancelled only in extreme weather or water conditions.
In this case you may reschedule your trip.

You must be able to swim. All participants are required to wear a
Type III. U.S. Coast Guard approved
life jacket that we provide. Where there is water, there is risk. New River Canoe Livery assumes
no responsibility for your personal safety or loss of equipment.
However, we do
everything possible to make your trip a safe one and have an excellent safety record.
You will be required to sign a
renter's agreement and liability release.
